  • The Need

    Meagan Genco

Meagan Genco is a teacher who has the biggest heart and is always there for her family, friends, and students. She’s a huge animal lover and Buffalo Bills fan! Unfortunately, she has been diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer twice in the last two years.

She was first diagnosed in March 2023 at the age of 27. After six months of treatments she rang the bell in July 2023 to celebrate remission. However, that was short lived as the cancer came back even though she was going through monthly transfusions and treatments to keep it at bay. Less than a year later, the return of her cancer was more aggressive than before and quickly spread throughout her entire body. She needed treatment right away and this time it would be more intense. It had to be done through in-patient at Roswell and this took her out of work for 5 months.

This meant no income, as she also could not receive disability. She returned to work in February of this year, however, the medical bills have begun coming in. Also, as she is out of sick days for work, each time she has to be absent from work for appointments like PET scans, biopsies, bloodwork, etc. it is docked from her pay. These past two years have been extremely mentally, physically, and financially draining. Funds raised through this campaign will help support Meagan.
