The Need
A few days after Ella's 17th birthday she was having trouble breathing. At the emergency room, they found a mass in her chest choking off the vessels to her heart and her lungs were being crushed by 5 liters of fluid. They knew then it was cancer. It had displaced her trachea and was in her neck, chest, both kidneys, and her bone. Ella was diagnosed with Stage IV, T cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, which is a rare and aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Ella's life since January 28th has been spent mostly in the hospital. She has had 9 kinds of chemo. Her treatments have left her barely able to walk and needing around the clock care, and she will need to continue these treatments for 2 years. Her self-employed mom is the sole provider for their family. They are at risk of losing their home and small farm, as her mom has barely worked since January while caring for Ella.
Ella lives in Holley with her mom, step-dad, grandparents, and 3 siblings. She is a Buffalo Bills fan who loves and has always believed in Josh Allen. She is hoping to be well enough to attend a game this fall. Go Bills!
