  • The Need

    Family of Kelly Ostermeier

Kelly Ostermeier was diagnosed with stage 4 goblet cell adenocarcinoma in June of 2025, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that came as a complete shock to her family. Shortly after her diagnosis, Kelly was unable to continue working as she focused on her health and treatment.

In July, she underwent an extensive surgery that included a full hysterectomy, removal of her appendix, and a portion of her bowel. Her recovery was incredibly difficult, and pathology results confirmed the devastating reality of stage 4 cancer. Despite this, there was still hope as she prepared to begin chemotherapy and pursue HIPEC treatment.

Unfortunately, in late August, Kelly was hospitalized again due to severe complications. The cancer was progressing more rapidly than expected, and she was diagnosed with ileus. After spending three weeks in the hospital, Kelly tragically passed away from septic shock caused by a PICC line infection.

Kelly leaves behind her beloved husband of 34 years, four children, and four grandchildren. She was known for her radiant smile, her unwavering love for her family, and her selfless nature—always putting others before herself.

In the wake of Kelly’s passing, her family is now facing the emotional and financial burden of medical bills and funeral expenses.
