  • The Need

    Ella Hoy

Ella is a bright and determined young girl from Western New York whose life has been dramatically changed by chronic Lyme disease. After years of unexplained symptoms including joint pain, rashes, fatigue, and fevers, Ella was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2018. Unfortunately, because the infection went untreated for so long, she never fully recovered, even after multiple rounds of antibiotics. Today, Ella struggles daily with severe exhaustion, brain fog, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. Once an energetic honor roll student who loved gymnastics, horseback riding, skiing, and especially softball, she now spends most days in bed and is unable to regularly attend school or participate in the activities she once loved.

After years of searching for answers, Ella has finally received a diagnosis of Post-Treatment Chronic Lyme Disease, along with several co-infections and related conditions including MCAS, leaky gut, food sensitivities, and high levels of mold-related toxins. Specialized treatments through Arbor Health in Rochester, NY are giving her hope for recovery, but these treatments, medications, supplements, dietary needs, and travel expenses are not covered by insurance. Ella’s mother, Jessie, has been caring for her full time while also battling Parkinson’s disease and ankylosing spondylitis herself. To make matters even harder, they were recently displaced from their home due to a serious mold issue, creating even greater financial strain as they continue fighting to help Ella regain her health and future.

Funds raised through sales of this design will help support Ella during this time. Please consider a purchase or a donation to her online fundraiser.
