  • The Need

Sunflower Promise in honor of Erin Hastings

The Sunflower Promise is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting mothers who have experienced the loss of a child. Its mission was inspired by Erin Grace Hastings, a joyful little girl who faced significant challenges from cerebral palsy but never lost her beautiful smile or contagious spirit. Before Erin passed away in 2015, she gave her mother, Debbie, a sunflower seedling for Mother’s Day. When the tiny seedling grew into a beautiful sunflower, it became a symbol of hope and inspired Debbie to save and replant its seeds. Today, those sunflowers are shared with grieving mothers, transforming loss into hope and reminding them that even in the darkest moments, something beautiful can still grow.
