    The Need

Shortly after Thanksgiving 2021, Evelynn was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer. The tumor is located along and inside her spine, resulting in swelling of her spinal cord and requiring hospitalization for a month. Since her return home, Evelynn has completed four of the estimated eight rounds of chemotherapy. She is continuing to work on her mobility and strength to be able to meet her milestones through physical and occupational therapy. She has already made progress with relearning to roll over and sitting up with support. We are hopeful that after surgery she will be able to regain movement in her lower extremities to be able to walk. Jilynn and Edward look forward to the days that they can bring Evelynn on their favorite adventures, including hiking, swimming and water sports, and camping.

Evelynn will have a long road to recovery and Jilynn and Edward have taken extended periods of time off of work in order to provide her with the love and care she requires to fight this cancer. Proceeds from this campaign will help Jilynn and Edward offset medication, nursing, treatment, and assistive equipment costs. Any additional funding will be donated to Oishei Children’s Hospital to support other children and families who are battling childhood cancer.
