The Need
Ten Lives Club is a registered 501(c)3 non-kill, non-profit cat adoption group devoted to reducing the number of cats euthanized each year due to overpopulation and lack of space in shelters. Since their creation in 2001, TLC has saved the lives of or assisted over 40,000 cats through rescue, adoption, spay/neuter services or feral feeding assistance. They operate out of their main shelter located in Blasdell, NY and with the help of foster homes. Their adoptable cats can be found at their main shelter as well as over a dozen satellite locations, including the Walden Galleria Mall.
They rely solely on donations and constant fundraising to assist the hundreds of cats and kittens that pass through their care each year. Over 300 volunteers help to make their organization operate on a daily basis, helping in areas such as cleaning, adoptions, and fundraising. In addition, they have a small paid staff to care for the cats at their main shelter facility, including their own on-site Veterinary Staff.
