Jay Walter is extremely hard-working and motivated. He earned his bachelor's degree, had a great job, and even purchased a home this past year. On Oct 16th, he was admitted to the hospital in need of surgery for his neck and spine. The day after surgery, he had a complication that resulted in a spinal cord injury (damage at C5-C7), leaving him with paralysis of his arms, hands, and fingers. While he is currently receiving disability, that is not enough to pay his mortgage let alone utilities, groceries, etc. He needs assistance raising enough to not only save his home, but to make modifications to it so he can eventually live more independently, along with covering his increasing medical and care costs.
