Jordan is a beautiful baby boy who at 2 months old was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood epilepsy called Infantile Spasms or West Syndrome, that occurs in babies. Infantile Spasms are seizures that occur in a series of short spasms, or clusters. Jordan at the peak before treatment was having roughly 140 spasms a day. He has what is known as refractory IS which means that he has been unresponsive to treatments or medications. Children with IS are at risk for difficult to control epilepsy, intellectual disabilities, autism and other types of developmental outcomes. He is currently on a strict keto diet in hopes of stopping the damaging brain activity known as hypsarrhythmia.
