At just 10 months old Jack was diagnosed with bilateral Wilms-an extremely rare kidney cancer that caused tumors on both kidneys. He started to receive chemotherapy just 2 days after his diagnosis. Jack had three major surgeries at Boston’s Children Hospital. The first surgery was to remove a 3.4 pound tumor from his right kidney and the second to remove three small tumors off his left kidney. Unfortunately we found out two months later the left kidney did not survive and Jacks left kidney was removed as well during a third trip to Boston. So Jack currently only has half of his right kidney. He has received 14 months of chemotherapy during this entire process only with small breaks for surgeries. As of December 20th- his scans revealed no tumors and he is cancer free!

The fear of relapse is real and with only having a half of kidney-the reality of a kidney transplant will most likely be in his future. 

Jack has a 5 year old sister and a 8 month old brother (who was born between surgeries) and just wants to be a kid! He has been fighting cancer for over half his life!
