Kelley Thompson is a loving mother of six boys (yes, SIX boys) who has been through a lot in life. The last few months in particular have been challenging, with a myriad of medical issues forcing her to be hospitalized several times for extended periods of time. After doctors in Central PA where she lives were unable to determine what was wrong with her, she sought the help of the team at ECMC. Thankfully, doctors there quickly recognized her body was littered with blood clotting and sepsis. Doctors said her conditions could have taken her life and at one point believed she would at least lose her legs. Through their attentive care and expertise she was able to recover without amputation but had a long road to recovery ahead that included relearning how to use her legs. Today, Kelley has returned home where she's resiliently back at work and nearing a new normal in life. In her free time, she spends time with family and rooting on the team she used to hold season tickets for.
