Kyree Beachem is a 12-year-old girl from Ellwood City. Behind the smile that she greets everyone with, is the heart of a true fighter. She was born with Hirschsprungs Disease which led to a small intestine transplant at age 2 1/2. Unfortunately, her body went into severe rejection and the doctors had to remove the transplanted organ within 10 days. She waited another 5 years for the perfect match. By that point, her health had declined significantly. In November 2015, that call came and Kyree received a lifesaving 4 organ transplant. In the past 4 years, Kyree has enjoyed things that had been out of reach previously. She is able to attend school once again. She has enjoyed time at the beach, loves to swim, and going to country concerts. However, in between those special moments, she has continued to fight rejection. On December 18, 2019, the doctors found severe rejection in 2 of her 4 transplanted organs. She lost 2 years of healing in less than 2 weeks. Her fighting spirit is battling back once again and she is committed to keep changing the world, one smile at a time. She wants to continue to spread organ donation awareness and the gift of life.
