    The Need

In the spring of 2020 Adrian noticed a small bump on his foot. Over the course of the summer it would not go away and began to grow. After tests Adrian was diagnosed in November with a rare cancer called Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS). More tests revealed the cancer had metastasized to his lymph nodes and bone marrow making him stage 4 and high risk. The tumor including his pinky toe were removed (Adrian now calls his toes “his nines”) and he began chemotherapy. By February 2021, scans revealed the cancer had spread and the chemo was not effective. Adrian continues to fight, but a higher chemo regimen is taking a toll on him. His family remains positive and hopeful that he will be cancer free at the end of his treatment. They feel if Adrian is having a bad day the cancer has to be having it worse. However, ARMS stage 4 has a very high recurrence rate, and Adrian will have to be monitored the rest of his life. He is a happy kid who loves people and animals. He loves visiting zoos, reptile lands, and farms. While his diagnosis is completely life changing the family’s spirits remain high. They honor good days and bad days moving forward with positivity, love and hope. They note that support from family, friends, and the community has been overwhelming. They can feel the positivity and love, and it’s been instrumental in keeping them going everyday. Please consider a shirt purchase or donation to Adrian's online fundraiser.
