    The Need

Bentley is a 7-year-old boy from Rochester, NY and he is one of the biggest Bills fans! Bentley was first diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (blood cancer) at just 5 years old on August 16, 2019. Bentley was admitted to the Golisano Children’s Hospital where he underwent 6 rounds of inpatient chemotherapy. With each round of chemotherapy Bentley was admitted for 30 or more days at a time. He immediately stole the hearts of his care team with his big heart and huge personality. Bentley was finally declared cancer free, and was off treatment, but unfortunately he began to have some leg pain. Following the appearance of lumps on his neck, further testing revealed the return of his cancer. Bentley was immediately admitted on September 6, 2020 to start the process of receiving a bone marrow transplant. While his care team looked for a match he was admitted for two more rounds of inpatient chemotherapy. After finally finding a match he was admitted to the Wilmot Cancer Center where he had his transplant on December 15, 2020. He is now home and recovering, but the fight is far from over. His family appreciates everyone's well wishes and support!
