    The Need

Mike's wife Shannon proactively asked Mike to get checked out when his anxiety hadn't subsided over the course of a week, and constantly talking about "brain fog". Thinking that maybe he had had a mini-stroke, Shannon wanted to alleviate his worries. While all is blood work, cat scans, body scans, chest x-rays, and ultrasounds came back normal, an MRI on August 19th  revealed a tumor on the left side of his brain. Further MRI's revealed two other very small nodules. Mike then had brain surgery where 95% of the tumor was successfully removed, and confirmation that the tumor is glioblastoma. Mike is 44 years old, and he and Shannon were just two months away from adopting their first baby girl to start their forever family. They had been trying to have children for more than 5 years, had two miscarriages, and had been on an adoption waiting list for 2 years. Then, back in May, they got the exciting news they were finally going to be parents. They have had to make the difficult decision of backing out of the adoption, just weeks shy of the baby girl being born, to focus on Mike's health--for now. They are determined to be parents. Please consider a shirt purchase or a donation to Mike's online fundraiser.
