    The Need

On October 9, 2013, 21 year old Nicole "Nikki" Lardner, a volunteer firefighter and first responder, was involved in an automobile accident and her car flipped several times end over end leaving her with a Traumatic Brain Injury. After coming out of a six week coma, she received physical, occupational and speech therapy. She made amazing progress, including speaking several words, eating food by mouth and being able to walk with assistance. After about 7 weeks, the hospital told the family that she had plateaued in a few areas so they could no longer keep her at that facility. She is now at a long-term rehab facility and the plan is for her to continue receiving comprehensive therapies there through January... assuming insurance coverage will continue to hold up. Nikki is a beautiful, determined, brave young woman. With the love and support of family and friends and the many prayers that she received, Nikki fought to survive. She is determined to keep working hard and making progress so that she can become more independent. Your shirt purchases will help Nikki and her family during this difficult time.
